Ministry leadership

A life of faith, family, and service.

Brother Ryan Broers is the Founder and President of Orphans & Widows International and serves as Senior Pastor of Cave City Baptist Church in Cave City, Kentucky. With more than 25 years in full-time pastoral ministry, his calling joins biblical preaching and discipleship with practical care for people, both close to home and across the world.

Originally from Alpena, Michigan, Ryan is married and has two children. Faith and family are central to his life. His preparation for ministry includes a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and Counseling from Boyce College and further theological study at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary.

From Cave City to Uganda.

Ryan founded Orphans & Widows International out of a desire to share the Gospel and respond to the needs of vulnerable children, widows, and their communities. Uganda, East Africa, is the ministry’s primary mission field. Its work brings together church planting, Bible distribution, support for local pastors, and compassionate assistance with everyday needs.

His approach is personal and hands-on: spending time with local communities, encouraging believers, and working alongside others. The goal is to strengthen lasting local ministry while treating each person with God-given dignity.

Ministry beyond the pulpit.

That same commitment to care extends to his community in Kentucky. In 2025, Signature HealthCARE of Hart County Rehab & Wellness Center recognized Brother Ryan as a Hall of Fame inductee, honoring his ministry and 18 years of volunteer service. Through prayer, encouragement, and time with residents, families, and staff, he has carried pastoral care beyond the church doors.

Whether shepherding his congregation or serving in Uganda, Brother Ryan’s purpose remains the same: to point people to Jesus Christ and put faith into action through faithful, compassionate service.
